Automatic Media Transcoding

MCP Local Agent includes Open Source Transcoding Engine FFMPEG, which is responsible for converting video files before Uploading to content management system. FFMPEG can convert videos to and from any specified format.

Right after installation, MCP Local Agent is configured to convert all video clips to FLV format. This format is a "low quality" type to allow a quick browsing of the content from the MCP web module CMS (or content management system)

You can transcode Video media to a given format of publication also. The published version of the Video media will be the same that the media distribution system sends to the Players for Playback. If this option is set to "off", Players always will download the original file.

This feature ensures uniformity in video formats Players and ensures the correct reproduction of all of them, solving one of the most common problems in software solutions for Digital Signage: The Video CODECs on the Players.
